Additional info: So this is an experiment we came up at our workshop here in Perera and what better way to put it at test than in the Patina Thunderdome!

I’m Javier Perera and this going to be the pair I’m gonna be using personally for the next few months.

A couple things get me excited about this… this is my first time participating in this contest personally and also is the first ever pair of Pereras being submitted! And finally a bit more info about this pair…

Everything in this pair is handmade, hand cut, hand lasted, hand welted, hand sewn and hand painted (we call it 10/10 handmade). And talking about the leather, this is a white Walpier Ghost Buttero, which is made for it loose it’s top coat fairly easy, we finished up the leather by adding an extra coat of brown aniline.

How is this pair gonna turn out? I have no idea, but in my mind this should work like this: The white coat is going to crack with wear, making the top brown coat to also crack and both colors should start to blend but also, in some spots both coats are gonna fall off entirely leaving the natural crust exposed and we all know what happens when natural color leather is exposed to sunlight and wear… it will also patina!

So idk, we’ll see how this goes and I hope this just another way to enjoy the beautiful world of boots!
